High heat with a potential for all time ERCOT record for demand mixed in with low wind output and a smattering of thermal outages is a recipe for high wholesale prices and another white knuckle day for the Reliability Coordinator.
I imagine ERCOT will call for a Conservation Notice at some point today to reduce consumption b/t 3-9 pm.
UPDATE: The wind has picked up and is almost to 11,000 MWs and climbing. ERCOT really needed this contribution today!
The next hurdle will be this evening when the solar MWs go away. Hopefully the wind continues to pick up.
