Good thing the load is forecast 4,000 MWs lower than last week's record peak over 85,000 MWs b/c the wind is super low today with about 1500 MWs currently.
The last couple of weeks has seen some rough wholesale prices which immediately increased the retail rates. Good times....
UPDATE: The load did come in 4000 MWs lower and wind added 3000 MWs from the bottom earlier today. As a result, the wholesale prices have been held in check with $190/MW as the high point today (so far). This is $1200/MW cheaper than two days ago and $2000/MW cheaper than last Friday 08/11.
